METHOD OF REGENERATING epsilon-CAPROLACTAM-PRODUCING CATALYST AND METHOD OF PRODUCING epsilon-CAPROLACTAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent method of regenerating a zeolite catalyst used in producing ε-caprolactam by the Beckmann rearrangement reaction of a cyclohexanone oxime.

SOLUTION: The contact of the zeolite catalyst used for the Beckmann rearrangement reaction of the cyclohexanone oxime with a compound selected from ammonia and amine, a carboxylic acid, and a gas containing water allows an ε-caprolactam-producing catalyst to regenerate. Regenerating the catalyst with this method and reusing makes it possible to produce the ε-caprolactam over the long term at a high yield.
