PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article pickup device of a vending machine that can prolong use lives of a sheet material and a buffer material while securing a sufficient space in an article receiving box. SOLUTION: The article pickup device 20 of the vending machine is equipped with the article receiving box 21 for receiving an article W carried out of the machine opposite an article pickup opening 14 formed in the front; and the article receiving box 21 is equipped with a bottom plate 211 where the article W is mounted and the sheet material 214 which covers the surface of the bottom plate 211 across the buffer material 22 and the sheet material 214 is arranged movably along the surface of the bottom plate 211.
