PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform density correction by determining a correction region at a leading end and/or trailing end of a heat developable photosensitive film. SOLUTION: In the medical image recording device 1α, an exposing means 2 forms a latent image on the film 1 based on an an exposure light signal for testing for correction of the density characteristics at the leading end and/or trailing end of the film 1; a heat developing means 3 heat develops the latent image and records the image to the film 1; a density measuring means 7 measures the density characteristics of the heat developed exposure signal for testing; and a control means 111 determines the correction region at the leading end and/or trailing end of the film 1 based on the result of the density measurement and corrects the density characteristics at the leading end and/or trailing end of the film 1 at the time of recording the image signal for diagnosis in the correction region.
