INPUT DEVICE FOR MULTIPLE USE WITH A DIGITISING TABLET

An input device (2), of the passive type, is provided that allows for multiple use with digitisers such as those used in Tablet PCS. The device mechanism comprises a switch (10) and an inductive circuit, which is only completed when the switch is activated. This allows for more than one device to be used in proximity to the surface of the digitiser. The device is intended to be worn on the finger of a user, and in a preferred embodiment, the device is implemented as a thimble. The device is ideally suited therefore for use with an on-screen keyboard, and allows for rapid typing using two or more fingers, by using one device on each finger.
