A data transmission gateway for a motor vehicle diagnostic network (CAN). Said gateway can be fitted to a diagnostic network bus between a data transmitter (10) and a data receiver (12) and comprises means for transmitting a simulated data stream (15) identical to a data stream transmitted by the receiver (12) in response to the data stream transmitted by the transmitter (16) via the gateway (18). Said gateway cuts the transfer time to nearly the direct transfer time.
