POLY(PHENYLENE SULFIDE) DENDRIMER, CARBOXYLATED FOCAL PHENYLENE SULFIDE DENDRON AND MANUFACTURING METHODS FOR THEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel and useful poly(phenylene sulfide) dendrimer, a carboxylated focal phenylene sulfide dendron and manufacturing methods for them.

SOLUTION: The poly(phenylene sulfide) dendrimer is obtained by reacting a chlor-containing phenylene sulfide compound of formula I as a core I with trichlorobenzene and lithium sulfide each in an equimolar amount to the terminal chlorine to give a core II of formula II and successively repeating this reaction to react the terminal chlorine with trichlorobenzene and lithium sulfide each in the equimolar amount thereto, thereby forming an arbitrary number of phenylene sulfide chains equally extending from the core I. The manufacturing method therefor is also provided.
