PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for the implicit synchronization of a user interface automation code with the code of a computer program. SOLUTION: A synchronization API (Application Program Interface) is called that hooks into the message-queue of windows corresponding to the user interface. The synchronization API returns when the relevant threads corresponding to the windows and other system activities indicate that the message-queues are empty.
