PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device for actualizing smooth speed reduction of a vehicle by determining momentum run permissible conditions.

SOLUTION: The vehicle control device having a clutch 2 for automatically connecting/disconnecting the output shaft of an engine to/from the input shaft of a transmission determines whether the momentum run permissible conditions is satisfied or not where at least a vehicle speed is higher than a preset value (a) so that an accelerator pedal footing amount is a preset value or smaller when the momentum run permissible conditions is satisfied, and determines momentum run conditions where a brake pedal footing amount is a preset value or smaller so that the clutch is put into a disconnected condition when the momentum run conditions are satisfied.
