PURPOSE: To provide a torque limiter capable of holding a large torque value, further increasing smoothly the torque and presenting racing with quick response while effecting no adverse influence on the maximum limit torque obtained even if an outer ring is made of a metal material. CONSTITUTION: A torque limiter is provided with a plurality of hollow pockets 1B extending radially outward from the inner peripheral surface 1A of an outer ring 1. Roller members 2 and spring members 4 to press the roller members 2 are incorporated one by one into these pockets. Slits 1C, 1D for holding a flat spring extending radially from the intermediate portion of the side wall of each pocket are provided while a flat spring 3 held in the slit to cross radially the hollow pocket 1B is provided. When the roller member is pressed against the side wall at the opposite side to the spring member incorporated in the hollow pocket 1B, at least the flat spring 3 is bent radially outward by the roller member. |
