An air texturising machine has a number of stations each with a modular arrangement of like aggregate units attached to a wall. Each modular group has a discrete function. Additional modules may be inserted or removed as required in a horizontal array. In the basic arrangement the winding unit (8) is located at a lower level, the texturising aggregates (7) are at a mid-level, and the feed rollers (4) are located in an upper level.
