The present invention relates to a combustion system of an internal combustion engine, wherein the amount of intake air is controlled by adjusting the amount of exhaust gas to be re-circulated through an intake pipe into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine after combustion so as to reduce a pumping loss and to reduce emission of nitrogen oxides. An object of the present invention is to provide a combustion system of a gasoline internal combustion engine, which prevents the occurrence of a pumping loss in the introduction of air and deterioration of the power of the internal combustion engine and controls the power of the internal combustion engine through adjustment of the amount of exhaust gas re-circulated to the intake pipe. A combustion system of a gasoline internal combustion engine to reduce a pumping loss according to the present invention for achieving the object comprises an intake pipe for supplying fuel together with air; a combustion chamber in which the air and fuel supplied through the intake pipe are mixed and burned; an exhaust pipe for exhausting exhaust gas generated due to combustion in the combustion chamber; connection piping for connecting and communicating the exhaust pipe with the intake pipe and supplying a portion of the exhaust gas to the intake pipe; and a power control valve installed at the connection piping to control the amount of the exhaust gas supplied to the intake pipe. |
