The system has a power steering control unit (7) to calculate a target power steering torque based on a signal from a sensor detecting steering operation of a flywheel, and a control signal. The unit allows a power steering motor (115) to function at an acceptable torque when the acceptable torque is less than the target torque, i.e. when motor actuating current is limited due to high temperature of the motor.
