<p>The procedure, especially for making mechanical components (10) of complex shape from fritted steel, consists of compressing a powder mixture, sintering and cold deformation, which is locally greater than 10 per cent. The cold deformation is carried out with a one-piece die having an impression cavity matching one surface of the mechanical component to be made. The primary surfaces (22A, 23A, 24A, 26A) in a first region of the component are formed during the compression stage, while secondary surfaces (22B, 23B, 26B) in a second region of the component are formed during the cold deformation stage, the primary and secondary surfaces lying on opposite sides of the component's plane of symmetry.</p> |
