The device has a stabilization jack (4) mounted pivotally at a fixed part (3) of a vehicle. The jack is connected to a panel (1) by a tierod (5). Opposite ends of the tierod are articulated to the jack and panel such that the tierod maintains the panel in an open position when the jack is in a folded position and drives the panel towards a closed position when the jack is displaced towards a position of support on ground. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle comprising a panel mounted pivotally at a fixed part of the vehicle.
