摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression self-igniting gasoline engine for performing efficient compression self-igniting combustion, and to provide its fuel injection control method. SOLUTION: In the four-cycle compression self-igniting gasoline engine, a negative overlap period exists in at least part of an operation region, first fuel injection is performed during the negative overlap period and second fuel injection is performed during an intake or compression stroke. The engine comprises a first fuel injection device provided in a position of direct injection to a combustion chamber for the first fuel injection, a second fuel injection device provided in a position of direct/indirect injection to the combustion chamber for the second fuel injection, and a control part for controlling the injection amount and timing of each of the first and second fuel injection devices. The first fuel injection device has an injection rate as the time-variation rate of the injection amount and a gross injection amount, smaller than the second fuel injection device, and it performs injection with low penetrating force meaning a short travel of injected spray.
