PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire excellent in balance among abrasion resistance, road surface grasp properties and low fuel consumption properties, and pneumatic tire using the same. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tire comprises a conjugated diene polymer (A), a conjugated diene polymer (B) having glass transition temperature 20-80°C lower than that of the polymer (A) and an inorganic filler. The polymer (B) is a modified polymer of a polybutadiene or a styrene-butadiene copolymer in which the terminals are modified and contains 10-40 wt.% vinyl in the butadiene unit.
