In order to thread a web into a machine (01), the web can be coupled to a threading means (06), which can be conveyed along a threading path and which can be driven by means of a motor (11) in a receiving area and by means of a motor (21) in a delivery area for the web. During threading, a first of the two motors (11, 21) is controlled up to a predeterminable threading speed, and the second motor (21, 11) is controlled with regard to a predeterminable torque existing on motor (21, 11).
