<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an unused toner cartridge is attached, then the toner cartridge becomes a usable state. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is equipped with; a developing unit 46; a toner cartridge 28 having a toner supply tank 40 and a stirring member 57; a toner supply motor 65 which drives the rotation of the stirring member 57; and a control CPU 61 which controls the drive of the toner supply motor 65. After the unused toner cartridge 28 is attached to the image forming apparatus body, the control CPU 61 lowers the driving frequency of the toner supply motor 65.
