<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication apparatus with higher power-saving effect at waiting time than ever before having a light receiving element 11 to receive an optical signal including a communication start request signal and an optical communication circuit 13 including a circuit to amplify the optical signal generated by the light receiving element 11 to make a predetermined process for the optical communication while outputting a communication termination signal when the optical communication terminates. <P>SOLUTION: Optical communication apparatus is provided with a first circuit 15 which can supply bias voltage constantly to the light receiving element 11, can turn off a power source 29 for the optical communication circuit using the communication termination signal if the communication termination signal outputs, and can turn on the power source supply using a photoelectric current I<SB>p</SB>generated when the light receiving element 11 receives the communication start request optical signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
