<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to recognize the voice output from an apparatus and to improve voice recognition rate of the voice input to the apparatus, even if the apparatus generates noise during operation, for example, when images are being formed or during warm-up of an image forming means. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 2001 performs control by associating voice input/output timing with operation state of the image forming apparatus. For example, the CPU increases volume of the voice output from a voice input/output unit 500 in accordance with operation state of the image forming apparatus (scanner 10, printer 20), prohibits voice input, increases the sampling rate of the voice data, or stops operation of the image forming apparatus (scanner 10, printer 20) during voice input/output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
