PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the driving of an actuator by determining whether a vehicle-specific control constant is recorded or not.
SOLUTION: An automatic leveling device comprises a motor 10 for tilting an optical axis of a head lamp 1 to the vertical direction of a vehicle body, a vehicle height sensor 14 for detecting a change in the height direction of an axle of front wheels or rear wheels of a vehicle, a non-volatile memory 26 for recording the vehicle-specific control constant, and a CPU 20 for determining whether the vehicle-specific control constant is recorded on the non-volatile memory 26 or not, calculating a tilt (pitch angle) in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle based on the vehicle-specific control constant and detection output of the vehicle height sensor 14, and generating a control signal for compensating for a change amount from the calculation result so as to control the driving of the motor. The CPU 20 carries out a calculation for the pitch angle on condition that the vehicle-specific control constant is recorded on the non-volatile memory 26 and outputs the control signal obtained by the calculation to the motor 10. In other cases, the CPU 20 stops the outputting of the control signal to the motor, thus improving the reliability of the system.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
|
