PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start the supply of electric power by a change of logical state of a switch in an information processing apparatus, to activate a loading/ejecting mechanism by the status of the switch, and further, to automatically stop/continue the supply of power in accordance with the status at the time. SOLUTION: An information storage device 2 includes a power supply control device 13. This power supply control device 13 receives a power supply from a constant power supply device 8 to operate. When the depression statuses of the switches 17, 18 are changed during the stoppage of power supply from a power supply device 7 to the information storage device 2, the power supply device 7 is controlled to supply power to the information storage device 2 or to both the information storage device 2 and a control device 3, thereby activating a loading/ejecting mechanism 12 of a removable medium 1.
