PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive and a portable electronic apparatus capable of minimizing damage of a head and a disk independently of an environmental change by accepting the environmental change as it is. SOLUTION: This disk drive is provided with: a rotation means to rotate the disk; the head for writing and/or reading data with respect to the disk; a detection means for detecting the operational environment of the disk drive to output the detection signal; and a control means for controlling the floating amount of the head from the disk to be a specified value or higher by controlling the rotation means to change the rotation speed of the disk from a rated speed.
