PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive device which controls the driving state of a thread motor, according to the operational condition of the device. SOLUTION: The disk drive device, having a thread mechanism for moving an optical pickup for writing or reading out data for a recording medium, is provided with: a motor control means for controlling the thread motor for driving the thread mechanism; a driving voltage switching means capable of switching the driving voltage to be supplied to the motor control means at a prescribed voltage value; and a driving voltage control means for controlling the driving voltage switching means on the basis of the operational condition of the device.
