PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that allows a certain destination to easily refer to data not subjected to a predetermined process, when data subjected to the predetermined process are sent to the destination by email. SOLUTION: An MFP 1 creates a highly compressed PDF file HPD by subjecting scan data obtained by a scanner to a high-compression PDF conversion process. When the highly compressed PDF file HPD is sent to a destination by email, a storage PDF file PD is created from the scan data and stored in a directory in an accessible hard disk 24 from a sending computer 90 via a network.
