PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a benthos collection system capable of collecting stably and effectively a benthos within a fixed area. SOLUTION: This benthos collection device 10 has a silt suction device 20 abutting on the seabed 11 with a drilling frame suction port 25 to suck a silt 15 in the seabed 11 containing the benthos 12. The silt suction device 20 has a inflow water pipe 35 allowing inflow of the sea water in its inside. Only a precipitated sediment in the suction device is sucked by a flow, since the fluid flowing into the suction device forms the flow from a water bottom side toward a direction acting with suction force, by the suction force acting on the suction device, in the suction device. The sediment is prevented further from being hardened, because pore water among particles in the sediment is not reduced by the inflow of the fluid into the suction device.
