PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically conductive transparent radiation shield which can shield an object fromγrays, X rays, neutrons and the like, can resolve such problems as the coloring and dielectric breakdown of glass due to electromagnetic waves and can also be easily manufactured. SOLUTION: The electrically conductive transparent radiation shield has the composition shown in an expression: (1-m)[(1-n)B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>-nPbO]-mX, where m is 0.001 to 0.05, n is 0.1 to 0.9 and X is a solid strong electrolyte.
