PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade the occurrence of the problem that, in a welding part which has a wall or a level difference interfering with welding torches or a narrow part, when one torch is left and the other torch is retreated so as to be in a single welding state, the tip of the torch is shifted from a welding line, and the conventional welding program can not be used, and the problem that teaching must be performed once more. SOLUTION: In the welding method where the central positions in the tips of a plurality of welding torches are moved along a prescribed welding line, a welding part which can not be welded with a plurality of torches owing to the interference with the torches, a work, a fixture or the other member is welded by one torch with the other torch retreated, also, the one torch performing the welding is tilted or parallelly moved in such a manner that the tip of the one torch is located in the above central position, and the welding is performed by the one torch in such a manner that tool data are made the same as those in the case a plurality of torches are used.
