摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a high speed optical transmission in which distortion in time waveform is not present and multiplexing/demultiplexing of a high speed OTDM signal is performed in a simple manner. <P>SOLUTION: An optical Fourier transform unit 2 for transforming an optical pulse waveform on a temporal axis into a pulse frequency spectral shape (envelope) transforms a temporal region pulse train of an optical time division multiplex (OTDM) signal into a wavelength division multiplex (WDM) signal spectral train having a wavelength channel corresponding to a time division channel by at least one frame in the lump at a transmission side of the optical pulse. A WDM optical demultiplexer circuit 4 at a receiver side demultiplexes the WDM signal spectral train propagated through an optical fiber 3 into each wavelength channel. An optical inverse Fourier transform unit 2' transforming the spectral shape into an optical pulse waveform on the temporal axis of the pulse transforms the spectral train demultiplexed respectively with respect to each wavelength channel into a time signal waveform of a time division channel corresponding to the wavelength channel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
