<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device with which the deterioration of toner is minimized by reducing the load on the toner, images of high grades can be formed for a long period of time, and good image formation can be performed without the adhesion of the toner to the electrode of a corona charging means. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes a toner hopper 4 which is arranged to face a peripheral surface 1a of a photoreceptor drum 1 and in which the toner 5 is housed, a corona charger 12 which is arranged within the toner hopper 4 and charges the toner 5 of a toner reservoir section 4a near the photoreceptor drum 1 and a first cleaning means 13 which cleans the staining of the electrode 12a of the corona charger 12. The first cleaning means 13 cleans the electrode 12a of the corona charger 12 by removing its staining, thereby enabling the stable electrostatic charge by the corona charger 12 to the toner 5 of the toner reservoir section 4a near the photoreceptor drum 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
