PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately repair and check a storing cassette while facilitating counting of paper currencies or the like stored in the storing cassette. SOLUTION: A management device is attachably/detachably attached to the storing cassette for storing the paper currencies or coins to be dealt with users and manages the storing cassette. The storing cassette is provided with a failure information recording part for recording identification information identifying kinds of the failure, and a quantity information recording means for recording quantity information indicating quantity of paper currencies or coins to be stored in the storing cassette, and determines whether a prescribed failure occurred or not based on the identification information acquired from the failure information recording part. When it is determined that the prescribed kind of failure occurred, an instruction for counting the quantity of the paper currencies or coins in the storing cassette is output to a manager.
