PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of a propeller shaft for absorbing an impact load when the impact load acts on the propeller shaft in an axial direction thereof. SOLUTION: A forming circumference surface 160 forming a fitting hole 16 of a joint 14 consists of a first straight circumference surface 161, a first inner taper 162, a second straight circumference surface 163, and a second inner taper 164. Diameter of the first inner taper 162 and he second inner taper 164 reduce as it goes toward a direction fitting an end part 121 of an inner tune member 12 into the fitting hole 16. Impact load acting on the joint 14 in an axial direction of the propeller shaft 11 extends to the inner tube member 12 via the first inner taper 162 of the fitting hole 16, and the end part 121 of the inner tube member 12 is crushed toward radial inside when the impact load is large.
