PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment furnace making steady positioning by eliminating unevenness of stopped positions of an elevator and a fork. SOLUTION: This heat treatment furnace is provided with a cooling chamber 2 and a heating chamber 3 parallel disposed with the cooling chamber 2 respectively airtightly closed. The cooling chamber 2 is provided with the elevator 4 vertically movable in a first rod 12 of a hydraulic pressure cylinder 11 fixed to the furnace top in the fork 8 supported with the elevator 4, a fork moving device 9 supported with the elevator 4 and a cooling vessel 14. The hydraulic cylinder 11 fixed to the furnace top is integrally arranged with a second cylinder which surrounds a first cylinder 13 for driving the first rod 12 as one side rod, and in which the first cylinder 13 is used as a second rod having small stroke.
