There is provided a hybrid fuel cell system capable of improving the converter efficiency. The hybrid fuel cell system (1) includes a fuel cell (22) and a storage battery (21) which are connected via a voltage converter (20). The voltage converter (20) has a plurality of phases (P1, P2, P3) and is configured so that the number of operation phases can be modified according to the power passing through the voltage converter (20). Since the number of phases can be modified according to the power passing through the voltage converter (20), it is possible to select the number of phases having a higher efficiency for performing voltage conversion according to the passing power, thereby significantly improving the efficiency in the voltage converter (20).
