At least some of the slats (14) are present in a slat mat (16) and the slats in this mat are bend resistant with respect to bend axes (Y-Y) extending orthogonal to the slat length axes and parallel to the mat tangential surface (T). These mats can bend with respect to at least part of the bend axes (X-X) extending parallel to the slat length axes. The slat frame is supported by a furniture frame (10).
