PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric discrete type sensor which provides a means for switching monitoring/adjustment from both of a light receiving part/light transmitting part and connecting a standby power source to both of the light receiving part/light transmitting part using only double-core type electric wire (synchronous line) between a light transmission and light reception without separately laying the electric wire and by which even one worker can perform adjustment. SOLUTION: In the photoelectric discrete type sensor having the light transmitting part and the light receiving part provided on both sides of a smoke detection space and opposite to the light transmitting part, to which the synchronous line to synchronize light transmission of the light transmitting part and light reception of the light receiving part is connected and which outputs fire information based on change of light receiving amount by the light receiving part to the light transmission of the light transmitting part by existence of smoke, it is constituted so that the light receiving part detects the light receiving amount of light from the light transmitting part, outputs a light receiving signal indicating the light receiving amount to the synchronous line and in addition, the light transmitting part receives the light receiving signal from the synchronous line and the light receiving amount is outputted.
