PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile type electronic equipment which is display technology in displaying the videos etc., run on television broadcasting on a small display device and can display the videos always in a correct direction by properly vertically or laterally inverting the display of the display device regardless of the attitude of the equipment, and an image/video display method. SOLUTION: The mobile type electronic equipment A having at least either of a video display function and a static image display function is provided with a display direction inverting means A1 for inverting the top and bottom or right and left of the display image on the display device and an upside down display detecting means A2 for detecting whether the display image is displayed upside down or not. When the upside down display detecting means detects the upside down display of the display image, the display direction inverting means inverts the top and bottom or the right and left of the display image.
