PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to suppress the afterimages generated when a liquid crystal display manufactured by using a substrate formed with projections for orientation control by using a negative type photosensitive resin composition is put in a state of applying a voltage thereto for a long time. SOLUTION: The projections for orientation control of the substrate having at least the projections for orientation control constituting the liquid crystal display holding a liquid crystal between the substrate and a counter substrate is formed of the negative type photosensitive resin composition containing a resin having at least a phenolic hydroxyl group. Further, if the resin has a photodimerization reactive functional group as the side chain of the phenolic hydroxyl group, the sensitivity improves and therefore such is preferable.
