PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair which enables the easier assembly with a simple structure along with a good looking by holding the seat plate securely being folded. SOLUTION: In the chair which has a seat plate 4 turnably mounted on a seat plate support rod 2c turned horizontally provided on a leg body so as to be foldable being turned upward when housed, a support member 10 mounted on the seat plate 4 is turnably mounted on the seat support rod 2c and a pin 17 is projectingly provided on the outer circumference of the seat plate support rod 2c. A first elastic rib 15 which is so arranged as to engage the pin 17 at the folded position of the seat plate 4 over the pin 17 sliding in contact with the pin 17 when the seat plate 4 is turned upward is provided on the side wall of the support member 10.
