发明名称 Improvements in or relating to reversing valves for regenerative ovens, particularly regenerative coke-oven batteries
摘要 821,734. Valves. KOPPERS G.m.b.H., H. April 8, 1957 [April 13, 1956], No. 11363/57. Class 135. A recovery valve for a regenerator oven, comprises a waste gas valve 5, Fig. 1, operable by a lever 20, Fig. 2, to open and close communication between a sole flue connected at 2 and a waste gas flue connected at 3 and an air valve 7 carried by a rocker-arm 36 which cooperates with the lever 20 to open the valve 7 against gravity to admit combustion air to the sole flue during the final closing movement of the valve 5. The lever 20 pivoted at 21 to a bridge 12 mounted on the valve body 1 and operable through a chain 22 and clamps 23 by a reversing machine is formed with a forked arm 25 which coacts with recesses in a thrust collar 27 resiliently connected by a spring 34 to a bush 31 secured to the waste gas valve spindle 8. The spring 34 permits further movement of the lever 20 after seating of the valve 5 to ensure tight closure of the valve. On closure of the valve 5 a cam-like surface 19 on the lever 20 engages a roller 18 carried on an arm 16 mounted on a pivot-pin 15 to cause a pawl 17 fixed to the pin to rotate during the terminal portion of the movement of the lever 20. This pawl engages either a bolt 43 or a bolt 44 mounted on the rocker-arm 36 depending on the position of a handle 41 and whether " rich " or " lean gas is to be used to heat the oven. When rich " gas is used two regenerators in a battery of four heat the air, the pawl 17 engaging the bolt 44 with lost-motion, the valve 5 being closed before the valve 7 commences to open. When " lean " gas is used only one regenerator in the battery heats the combustion air, the pawl 17 then engaging the bolt 43 to open the valve 7 sooner and wider for increased volume of air flow. When " lean " gas is used it is desirable to heat this gas prior to its mixture with the air for combustion in which case one of the valves is modified to include a "lean" gas inlet, communication between which and the sole flue is controlled by a slide valve operable by the reversing machine. The air valve 7 is then locked in its closed position by a pin passing through a lug on the casing and the rocker-arm 36, the bolt 43 is then swung out of engagement with the pawl 17 so as not to impede the movement of the valve 5 during the operation of the slide valve. Clearance between the collar 27 and the bush 31 enables the rod 8 to be rotated to grind in the valve 5 without disconnecting the lever 20. A butterfly valve 57 may be fitted in the waste gas flue connection 3 to regulate the outflow of waste gases.
