<p>Drive system for escalators and moving walkways comprises at least one drive motor (21), optionally interacting with a gear system, at least one drive chain (20) designed as a sprocket chain, deviating elements (17) for the drive chain, and a device for minimizing the polygon effect arising when the chain is moved inward and circulates. The drive chain has a separation such that a maximum of two elements are used along each step or pallet. The device is formed by an arrangement for operating the drive motor, the deviating elements and/or the drive chain with non-constant speed. Preferred Features: The arrangement is formed by a power supply device, especially a frequency converter (23), driving the drive motor with non-constant speed.</p> |
