<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of shortening total copying time by improving the utilization efficiency of a capacitor, thereby shortening rise time and increasing copying speed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: a number-of-sheets prediction part 11a for predicting the total number of recording media passing through a fixing member at the consecutive paper feed where a plurality of recording media consecutively pass through the fixing member; and a CPU 11 for setting a threshold on the basis of the total number of recording media predicted by the prediction part 11a and permitting the start of power supply from the capacitor 17 to a heating part when stored electric energy detected by a stored electric power detection part 18 is equal to or above the threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
