<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fluctuation of load on a power source due to a blank space area of a recording material in a single-pass multi-head color printer. <P>SOLUTION: A color thermal printer is provided with a heat generating element array 23b for Y, a heat generating element array 29b for M, and a heat generating element array 32b for C, which make thermal recording on respective recording areas 3a-3c of a color thermal recording sheet 3. When any of the heat generating element arrays, e.g. the heat generating element array 23b for Y, faces a blank space area 3e of the color thermal recording sheet 3, a system controller makes the heat generating element array 23b for Y start recording for a blank space area to make thermal recording in the blank space area 3e. All the heat generating element arrays 23b, 29b and 32b are always in a state of thermal recording thereby, so that no change of recording density due to fluctuation of the load on the power source is generated, to be free from deterioration in image quality such as unevenness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
