<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage types of disk devices in a storage apparatus housing two or more types of mingled disk devices having different interfaces. <P>SOLUTION: A storage devise casing mingles an FC (Fiber Channel) disk device 220F having a fiber channel interface with an SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) disk device 220S having a serial interface and houses them. The SATA disk device is connected, through an FC/SATA interface connecting device 233 converting the interfaces, to a fiber channel. In starting up, or the like, a controller 310 automatically confirms a type of each of the disk devices based on an inquiry to a casing management section 241, or each of the disk devices and an address assigned to each of the disk devices to manage a confirmation result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
