PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus for a railway vehicle, by which the temperature rise in the power conversion apparatus can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The power conversion apparatus for a railway vehicle is arranged under the floor of the vehicle, and provided with a cooler for cooling a semiconductor element. The conversion apparatus comprises a meandering capillary heat pipe, connected to the ceiling plate of the power conversion apparatus and having a plurality of projections, a cooling medium sealed in the heat pipe, and a heat radiation fin connected to the end of the heat pipe.
