PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber for an artificial fiber, which comprises a polyester fiber and has excellent durability. SOLUTION: The fiber for an artificial fiber is obtained by attaching a functional material to a polyester fiber having 10-30 recessed parts with 2-20μm maximum length of an opening part based on 100 squareμm of the fiber surface.
