PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patch antenna capable of being manufactured by an extremely simple method and attaining a high gain. SOLUTION: The patch antenna comprises a radiation element 13 having a circular outline of radius r<SB>1</SB>, a ground conductor 11 having a projection image including the projection image of the radiation element 13, a plurality of struts 22 composed of conductive materials arranged between the ground conductor 11 and the radiation element 13 disposed oppositely through an air layer and touching the ground conductor 11 and the radiation element 13, and a feeding part 14 provided in the radiation element 13. The plurality of struts 22 are arranged on a circle of radius r<SB>2</SB>(r<SB>2</SB><r<SB>1</SB>) concentric to the radiation element 13, and the part 13A of the radiation element 13 located in the circle arranged with the plurality of struts 22 is substantially equipotential.
