PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide emulsion and a silver halide photographic sensitive material excellent in sensitivity, fog, latent image stability and storage stability, always giving a stable high quality print, and excellent in image quality and print reproducibility particularly in digital exposure in which high-illuminance short-time exposure is performed, and to provide an image forming method. SOLUTION: In the silver halide emulsion in which silver halide grains having an aspect ratio of <1.3, a silver chloride content of≥90mol%, a silver iodide content of 0.02-2mol% and a silver bromide content of 0.1-9mol% account for≥50% (by number) of all silver halide grains, a coefficient of intergrain variation in silver iodide content of the silver halide grains is <40%.
