PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus in which power sources of a part of its components is turned off according to the existence of an operator in an input work area of an input means. SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus equipped with a plurality of components for performing image processing, a controller for controlling the components and a keyboard for entering a variety of information in the controller, a detector consisting of an infrared sensor for detecting whether or not the operator exists in the input work area during input operation by the keyboard is provided. The controller is installed with a power supply control function for turning off the power supply of a part of components of the image processing apparatus when operation for image processing work is not performed and the detector does not detect the operator by discriminating whether or not the image processing apparatus is performing the image processing work.
