PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of starting a plurality of gas turbines GT1, GT2 used in a power plant for generating electricity. SOLUTION: While a minimum load level of a first gas turbine is kept, a second gas turbine is started and a load state of the second gas turbine is minimized. While the minimum load states of both gas turbines are kept, a steam turbine ST in which the gas turbines are operated in combination is started. When an operation temperature inside the steam turbine reaches a predetermined level, the loads of the gas turbines are increased up to a predetermined load level larger than that in the minimum load state. Then, a load as a function of a steam engine in which the gas turbines are combined is applied to the gas turbines. A starting sequence of the invention reduces an NO<SB>2</SB>amount generated during a turbine start period, and decreases generation of visible yellow plume in the power plant.
